Oil Question

Whats the best brand oil and weight to use in my mustang? See signature for info. I've heard Royal Purple is the best but wanted some opinions. Thanks.

I use valvoline racing 20/50

i use regular napa 10w-30 in my brand new stroker. royal purple is good for finding leaks. Oil companies are making a killing off some people.

ive heard mobil one is good. i use royal purple only because the guy who had before me started the engine out with it since he first put it in the car. i dont have any complaints though.

I just run a Blended Synthetic 10W-30.

I run 10W-30 Mobil 1 synthetic.

I also like the Mobil Clean 5000, when I had my old oil burning motor it seemed like that stuff disappeared at a slower rate than anything else.

The "best" weight can be found in an owner's manual, but there is no "best" brand. Synthetics may be better in some aspect or another, but modern petroleum oils are so good that you will be hard pressed to see a benefit with syn in anything but the most extreme conditions. Believe it or not, a 450bhp supercharged 302 is not extreme.

Oil companies are making a killing off some people.

I agree, especially when the average modern engine easily lasts over 250,000mi using regular oil with 7000mi drain intervals.
