Yeah go get a pcv valve. But i feel if it filled it that fast you have a serious problem. Any qualified garage should be able to do the test.

That doesn't make sense tho. If it would have burned that much oil after 5 miles, think what it would have been like after 1,000 miles. It would be like 200 of those. That is more oil than the engine holds probably. How much was it using before the separator was put on. If it didn't use at least a quart every 200-300 miles then that means the install on the separator is wrong. Remember that what that thing catches is saved from being burned. It would have disappeared if not for it. Did you add that much oil every 5 miles before?

Even if the check ball on the pcv valve was stuck open, it wouldn't pull that much oil in 5 minutes. There's no way to screw up the install enough to make it draw that much oil that quick. Especially on a na application. Most people people don't even bother to add one unless the oil is excessive.

when I just changed my oil last week, only about 4 qts came out...so it was using it up pretty quick prior to the install...

The other, drivers side,of the PCV system is to allow filtered air into the engine to allow the passenger side part to pull contaminated air from the crankcase.

Hmm? Both sides are under vacume . I dont see how there is a flow from one side to the other, unless the vacume from the plenum is stronger than the CAI side...then there would be a very SLIGHT flow.

But mine is pulling equal vaccume, and that still keeps any pressure from building and should pull some sort of a vaccume on the crank case. But my hose is also ALOT smaller than stock, so maybe thats also why i dont get much oil. Oh well, keeps me from the common problem with high RPM 2Vs, thats spinning a rod bearing . That problem is cause by turning high RPMs when your about 2 quarts down.
