i just bought my 90 stang and would like to change the oil before i drive it to much but i dont have an owners manual or anything so whats the specified oil viscosity to put in the motor

How many miles do you have on it, you may want to run one of those higher mileage oils. 10w-30 for cooler climates it flows a little easier 10w-40 for hotter weather has a little better resitance to viscosity breakdown I think. I run mobile1's oil for high performance vehicles so they say. you can get it from walmart in a 5qt jug for around $20.

The manual reccomends either 5w30 or 10w30 depending on climate.

Personally, I prefer to run Mobil-1 5w30 all the time, and 5 quarts is the right amount with filter (be sure to also run a good filter).

Make sure you take out the front oil pan drain plug!(if its your first time) When i first got my car, i didnt see it at first and did 2 oil changes without draining the front of the pan :)
yeah i did that....wondered why the hell the oil was so damn high on the dipstick :rlaugh: i run 10w-30 all the time...but next change i may try 10w-40 since its warm out now...
