i was running Castrol syntec on the old block. regular Castrol in the new block. but now that the new block is broken in, i'll be switching to Amsoil soon.

no, it doesn't matter. but 100% synthetic is better. the only reason i used regular oil in my new block is because the piston rings need to be broken in with conventional oil. after break in, any oil can be used.
