OK, Start Rant now...

OK well i gotta rant this up, ive been stuck in my ****in rooms since monday with what i thought was the cold, got back from the doctor today to find out i have 5 different injections, a sinus infection, strept throat, stomach infection, hypothalmus infection and one i forgot the name of cause its really long and technical sounding, so now ive been banned from work, i cant sleep, ive eaten 1 time this week, lost 16 pounds since sunday and cant work on the car all weekend :chair::bang::fuss::( ok end rant

hypothalimus? how the hell did you get a brain infection. you're not going to mutate like that guy from the Relic are you?

well im a martial arts instructor so i see so many people everyday that i coulda got it from anywhere, its not too serious though, its just means if i didnt get antibiotics my fever ive had since monday would keep rising, was 100.8 on monday and was 103.2 last night, so they put me on a major dose of amoxicillin 500mg 3 times a day for 10 days and im super contagious for the first 2 days so no going anywhere for me

hey i took kempo back when i was in HS. kinda miss it but my bum knee wont let me play anymore...

knees are only a problem if you let them, most martial artists who develop knee injuries are a direct relation of petalla femoral syndrome, its when we over develop the muscles that we use for power and defense, e.g. the muscles just above the knee, what happens is they weaken and start to drift from side to side causing pain and discomfort leading to reduced cartilage lubrication since the knee is no longer aligned proper pockets, so using certain muscle exercises to treat and improve these muscles are needed to eliminate the pain, i had to go through the same thing since my knee injuries go back quite a way, when i was 15 i was hit by a car on my goped by a hit and run driver and dislocated both my knees, the first 5 years of training wasnt too much issue until i started getting stronger and faster and more skilled then it really started bothering me, but using those exercises nearly fixed me knees, they still hurt in cold weather sometimes but its no where near how it use to be, point is take up the training again, its not your knees i think you need a bit more motivation :nice:

Yes :rlaugh:

My best friend teaches Shau Lyn (sp?) Kung Fu and has tried to teach me but I dont have the dicipline for it and lousy coorodination. :(

english spelling for it is typically Shaolin Kung-Fu
since there are so many variations of shaolin kungfu the kanji usually differ some but generally the kanji is
shaolin-kungfu.jpg

or
shaolin_kempo_red_small.gif

each of them means the other but also means something different, confusing i know but generally shaolin kung fu (pronounced sow-lyn-gungg-foo) = Shaolin Chuan'Fa

I'm a black belt in Kempo, but i haven't studied or practiced in 10 years so I dunno how many of the skills i learn remain. I don't really get into fights, so i can't find out.

But anyway, wow that sucks

well im sad to say it but unless your activly training all the time the only thing you really retain is the muscle memory everything else goes out the window, at least your not like some of these guys i see that say they got their black belt like 15 years ago so they dont need to train anymore, training is only really effective when you practice on a regular basis

I miss being all buff from my ol' martial arts days of yore. Trained first in Shaolin Kempo under some dude that later turned out to be a scam artist that took off one day with everyone's money and a bunch of equipment, but at least it got me some basics. I later trained under Earl Walker in Jeet Kune Do concepts, mostly focused on kickboxing and grappling (this was back when the UFC was only on its 3rd championship, when Royce Gracie was THE man to beat), and I did some weapons training independently - never got extremely good at that part, but I was fairly proficient, and it was fun. Once I got out of high school and started working for a living, though, I had less and less time to train, couldn't afford the classes (working at Wal-Mart and living on my own = EXTREMELY BROKE), and so I dropped out of the gig and tried to train on my own for awhile. By the time I got a job as a corrections officer, though, I just got downright lazy and couldn't keep myself with a regular training schedule on my own and nobody to train with, so ... yeah. That was like 10 years ago, now. And I'm STILL too lazy to train on my own, STILL have no one local to train with, and STILL can't afford the time/money to get into classes for anything again. :(

Anyway. Hope you're starting to heal up by now, mang. :nice:
