Once you Start......

 ..... I figured that just hanging around tossing in my opinion here and there would be fun.

But who knew what :SNSign: .....would cost me.

Following the Unisteer rack thread, I jumped the band wagon and ordered it.

Later after it was on its way to my door, the troubled posting of fitment and install started to pop up.

So the plans changed and it would no longer go on the Mach.
The 68 Cougar would become the Test car for the rack install.

After a day and a halfs work on removing the old power steering and installing the rack, it went fairly smooth.
by just using a porta-power to spread the header tubes slightly it was the only optional tool I had to use.
It works well and will have to take some getting used to the slightly wider turning circle.
:nice:

But then having all of that clearance now under the front,
It just had to be lowered.:D

So I spend 4 hrs today cutting off one and a half coil that dropped the nose 2 inches.
:bang: forgot the trimming of the wheelwell 1/4 inch off the finderlip, take the tires back off.
But it is starting to sit better and the test drive resulted in no tire rub.

But while having it on the lift, I noticed the right rear axle seal is leaking again.
Only to find the axletube end is bent.
So the back now has to under go some changes too.

There is new springs and hardware coming,
I already have a Disc brake set-up for an 8 or 9 so now to start the hunt for a better geared 9 for it.

If I could only get a few more pennies togeather,
I can get that roller stuff for the frontend that I heard about on :SNSign:

This place is a Bad influence. :p

looks nice. the angles on the u-joints are pretty severe but otherwise it looks great and as long as the joints don't bind that should be good to go. :nice:

i know what you mean about this place costing you money, but i came here looking for ideas originally anyway. now EBAY on the other hand that place has cost me a ton of money. for stuff i wanted and stuff i never even knew existed like my rear window defogger, headlight on buzzer, intermittent wipers, power trunk release, cruise control, power windows, and all kinds of other little doodads and trinkets
