I'm being offered a set of Competition Engineering Slide-A-Link traction bars for my 69 HT (se garage). I mainly cruise and go looking for twisty back roads, so having traction bars was not on my list until a tried a car with these on. Brilliant launch on the straightaways! Haven't tried them on a road race car though.

I especially like that you won't know they are there until your need them, and then they make the rear end feel rock solid right until the tires go up in smoke.

So!
Whats your opinions on these for a street/road race car? In other words - not dragracing? 4-leaf rear springs (Grab-A-Trac), heavy duty shackles, poly bushings, SPAX adj. gas shocks, all on a 9" with Detroit Locker. I'm also considering a Panhard bar and rear sway bar witch I don't have yet...

i would not use the slide-a-links on a road race car. they are great in straight line acceleration, especially in reducing wheel hop, but dont do anything for wheel hop under braking. better would be the shelby underride bars as they control spring wrap(the main cause of wheel hop in leaf spring cars) in both directions.
