Ordered my car today!

2012 Lava Red Mustang GT Premium, 401A Black/Cashmere, Comfort Package, Backup Camera.

The dealer estimated 6 weeks so I'm automatically assuming 8. I hope I get lucky and have a quicker turnaround than some have. This is my first special order car. I've been planning and saving for a few years and now that the order is placed, it's completely real and I'm uber excited!

Congrats!! I saw a picture of the lava red on facebook and it looked really nice!! Hope it comes in quick!

Thanks! I haven't really seen any pictures of lava red that do the color justice. Seeing the color in person makes alllllllll the difference in the world. It looks almost black from some angles but then when you hit it from another it looks like a deep deep metallic red. I know it's not for everyone but I like it.

Is it wrong to order the CAI and tuner the day after ordering the car?

Congrats on the order!

I wouldn't order any parts for the car until you have it.

Because if you do... those boxes will be sitting there... staring at you... tempting you, teasing you...

hahahahahaha, thanks for all of the replies.

My last Mustang was a 2001 GT. I traded it in for a 2005 Lincoln Aviator which I drove for two years. It was the first time in my life that I willingly bought a new car but the end result made me sad. I immediately regretted trading the car. Then I took a new job that required a daily 100+ mile commute and ended up trading cars with my wife. I don't even want to tell you what I have been driving for the past 3 years of my life but it's made by Volkswagen and resembles a semi-circle.

I'm really hoping to get my man-card back in a big way.

Sounds nice! I haven't seen the lava red yet in person, I'm still holding off final judgement, because so far I haven't been impressed by the pictures. It's still gonna be a long 6+ weeks, though

how much did you pay for yours out the door? i paid $37,000 for mine out the door, Gt premium with the security package, 18" polished wheels and red metallic paint

I used x-plan and after all is said and done it will be about $34k otd.
