Hey I'm ordering 4.10's tonight. Can I use the speedo gear to correct my speedometer in my 2000 GT? I heard you can't use speedo gears past 1998 mustangs. Is this true? What are all my options to getting the speedometer correct? Is there anything I can use without buying a tuner or that $100 speedcalibrator for now? Thanks

Sorry but there is no speedo gear on a 2000. If you google around, you can find a small device to wire in series with the VSS pickup on the transmission and it can correct perfectly, even if you decide to change tire sizes you can adjust it to get the speed dead on at 70 if you want...

yeah that could work. Could you suggest what I should search for? Do you know what it is called or could you post a link?

Thanks

you can either order it from DallasMustangs.com or AmericanMuscle.com but you will need a speed calibrator. if you don't know what you are doing, I suggest paying a professional to wire it in.

If you're gonna order 4.10's you might as well save a few bucks and get this kit here.

I'd also "highly" recommend the bearing kit since you will have the rearend open. there's really no reason not to do it.

Speed Calibrator (if you've already purchased your gears, then you will just need this link)
