It's crazy here too. I'm not happy about going through this all over again. I never realized how hot FL is without a/c.

We got off lucky last time..... I don't think we'll be this lucky again. The insurance people came to both our houses a few days ago from the Charley damage. :mad:

All that sounds like when it snows here in North Alabama. Everyone freaks out and loads the grocery stores and gas stations and goes and get generators. Cause we get 1 inch of smow and you lose your power for like weeks. Ice storms you can forget power. Most people have to call electric company to remind them they have no power. Be careful dude hope everyone down there makes it ok.
(p.s. protect those stangs LOL)

Sorry I took so long to chime in.
I spent 8 hrs today putting up shutters, and have about 1/2 more to do in the AM....Only reason didnt finish is to watch Pres Bush :worship: tonight.

Then..gotta clean the garage to put the cars in. The way it looks now, I should only get 50-60 mph winds. Joe will have it worse, but I think it will still pass N of him. (thank God) Baglock is the one we have to pray for..I think of everyone on here, he is MOST likely to get the hardest brunt. I will tell you that 140+ mph is nothing to laugh at.

I will cehck back on here in the AM.

JOE...Let me know if you need something..Im on my cell!

Pray for the hurricane instead. When she shows up on my doorstep, I'm going to throw an empty bottle of tequila at her and then kick her ass. Frances thinks she can walk into my neighborhood and cause all sorts of chaos? Uh uh. Not in my house.

Damn FL is a not so nice place to be in the late summer and early fall, seems like FL gets slammed by a hurricane in one way or another every yr.


Oink I hope that the concrete strcture that your keeping your car in has about 4ft thick walls, might need it if this thing gets stronger again before land fall.

My family is waiting for the 11:00 update to see when we're going to have to take shelter. My dad's office is a huge concrete building in Ormond Beach, so we're inviting all our friends to come with us. We have 4 generators so losing power isn't a big deal. It will be fun, but none of us are going to like returning home to see all the damage. :(

The rest of the year is a paradise in S. Florida. It just sucks when the storms are in a row like this and thank god they are not often in this pattern or magnatude of destruction. It does get silly when a storm approaches with all the panic and low supplies. It is so good to list the chit you don't have now and get them little by little in the off season and store them in those big plastic storage containers in the attic or garage. I learned this after Andrew hit and you will be straight when there is no power and supplies to be bought.

This is such a huge storm and I hope you all make it through safe and sound. :nice:

Last night at 1AM I decided to drive around. Nothing was open at all. Police all over the place. All of a sudden a light turns on. It's the Mobil gas station. I quickly pull in. The attendant tells me they ran out at 11AM yesterday but a truck just replenished. As I'm filling my tank headlights from all different directions are rushing the station. I was there 10 minutes and when I left the lines were down the street. As I'm driving home I see that McDonalds is open. I pull in and all they have is cheeseburgers. I ****** up all they have. Can't explain how weird things are right now around here.

ha, that sounds like me- i always wonder how it wouldn't be my fault if i got in an accident (not on purpose) and got my hood and bumper paid for :rlaugh:

anyways, u guys should go surf, like 6+ overhead waves out there.

ok joking aside, the storm is coming soon i think, at least that's what the news shows- luck guys

Well, my deductible is $1000....so it's not worth it for me.

Even still, your rate will go up if you file a claim, even if it's NOT your fault.
