J/K, its a standard that Killercanary set with a N/A stock displacement and shortblock 94-95.

Some guy in a dark green GT convertible will be coming awfully close to "the bar" when he gets his axles and posi replaced.

This was kind of random? LOL

I go away to europe for a few weeks and I come back to "bar this" and "bar that" in everyone's sig's. I guess that makes me a bar setter for signatures too!?!?

Hotrodsun- it all started when everytime I went to the track and posted my new times, everyone kept saying that I set the bar a little higher for the NA crowd... after time my car became "the car that set the bar." Until this year there were VERY few 12 second NA '94-95's on the boards and I was the first 'vert on the boards to do it. I never thought in a million years my car would be a 12 second car, let alone a low 12 second one with the weight I'm carrying. I'm VERY happy that more and more 12 seond cars are appearing on here, I think people are starting to finally lose the attitude that the '94-95's are slow pigs.

BTW-Don't you worry guys... this "bar setter" still has a few tricks up his sleeve and the bar will be set higher VERY soon!!!

Thanks . I was consistently at around 103 before (though I did get a freak run at 104.93), this last time at the track I was getting consisent 105/106. Once I quit blowing money on the suspension, I really do want to get a tranny that can take some abuse so I can add good traction. I don't like going to the track right now, I get bored after a few runs, and frustrated because I can't give it all she has until I'm all the way into 2nd gear. I really want to find out what a 1.7 60' time feels like . I've heard it's a rush . Next year!

One more post and your at 5000!!!

Dave, I ran drag radials and cut 1.8-1.7 60's for a long time without many problems. I wouldn't be afraid to go balls out on a few runs, just don't do it all the time. JFYI- I ran 12.73 with only a 106.62mph trap speed, the 60' was a 1.76.

Here's a 12.8 run with only a 1.89 60', you can manage this pretty easy with some DR's.

That run is very similar to one of my runs. How did you get all that extra mph you have now out of your car? Is it just in the launch? Or what have you changed since then?

Oh, I get it now. It's the posts. I'm an idiot. LOL

Dave, just don't go balls out on slicks. I went half-way balls-out on the first run, and look what it got me...

A busted driveshaft, a bent axle, and a pretty good R/T.

I want an acceptance speech for the 5,000 posts too...

I was thinking about getting new seats for the Stang, since I think the stock leather ones pretty well suck. Not all that comfy, and I just about slide off going around a hard corner.

So the question is, what to get? I just heard that Corbeau lost FIA certification for all their seats. Since I want to try some road racing next year, I guess that rules them out. I've also heard that they have quality issues with their fabrics & such.

So I think I'm leaning towards Recaros. Kinda spendy, but nobody has ever said anything bad about them that I've heard. I've narrowed it down to one of these three choices.

First up is a Recaro Speed, black vinyl with black saturn. Cost is $600 shipped:

Next up is another Recaro Speed, this time in black cloth with yellow stitching (I'd rather have black stitching, but that's not one of the color options, so yellow to kinda match the car). Cost is $500 shipped:

And finally, a Recaro Sport. Not as racy, but more friendly to my butt. I'm not a stick, and the Speeds do look a touch narrow . So this is an option, albeit slightly more expensive at $800 shipped:

So what do you think? The Speed is definitely more of a race seat. But the Sport is still pretty good -- it's stock for the 2000 Cobra R, so it must be decent for the track.

And of course, each of the prices I mentioned is for ONE seat. I ought to get two, so they match . And then there's brackets, probably another $150 each side. Nice thing about the Speeds, at least, is that they are universal -- you can use them on either side, good if you start to wear out the driver side .
