the wife is looking to trade in her Dodge Caravan. We are considering the Subaru Forester. Anyone have any experience with them? Likes/Dislikes?
Thanks
Will

I like subarus quite a bit. My parents got a 98 Outback AWD which I drive quite a bit (now my winter car till i find somthing else).

Anyways I like the inteior, stereo sounds good, handles great, AWD is insanely wicked, all around its a sweet car just too bad its a wagon or Id buy it off them lol. I love the feeling of the AWD, you really feel safe driving it and the steering is super tight. Im not a big fan of FWD cars but the AWD is awesome.

Great cars, some problems I found are little ones like there is no frame around the top of the driver and passenger widow if you know what I mean, makes it seem less solid/cheap when you close the door, I like to hear a nice thud. Also the gas mileage isnt the greatest. They go pretty fast too for a 4cly.

But yea go for it. I've heard good things about the Forrester too. If you find a good deal on a outback AWD or legacy AWD and you dont mind them I assure you that you will love it. If I ever need a family car I think ill look into subarus for sure.

I work for Subaru (service advisor) here in town and I love their vehicles!!!!! The little lady drives a 01 2.5 RS coupe as a daily driver and its awesome in the snow. I am wanting one as a winter car but they hold their value to well to make it happen.... If you are getting a used one have it checked for oil leaks they are bad for them!!!!!! If buying new get the Gold added security plan well worth the dollars spent awd is costly to repair if needed......

The new 2.5GT legacy is SO nice. I test drove one and if my wife didn't see the Audi with quattro in the parking lot, I think we would have gotten one. But as soon as she found out audi had AWD cars too, she wouldn't even look at another suby. I WILL own one for my next work vehicle if I have any say in the matter.

Looked @ new Forresters & Outbacks myself for my Mom. If you're choosing between them, Outback 100%. Interior and exterior(in my opinion) are much less cheesy. Or like mentioned above, you could scrap both of them & go Sti

Hmmm, STI that would be cool. But then my wife would roast my Stang! Looking at Car and Driver the Forester recieved best SUV. The dealership is supposed to get some 04' Demo's from the Auction this week. We will see. I would like to driv the Turbo model.
