I swear......I'm going to start to carry my camera 24/7 from now on. Yesterday, on the way home from work, I was stopped at a stoplight. Going the other way a Redfire GT pulls up to the light...the wheels kept spinning. I couldn't believe my eyes. He had what had to be 20" spinners and skinny tires.....you know.....maybe 8"wide. The car was lowered (my bet it had hydraulics), and around the outside of each of the flared-out parts of the fenders was chrome. Then I noticed that each wheel had chrome mud flaps and when he drove by it sounded like a souped up lawn mower........huge coffee-can pipes out the back.

I almost cried....one of the saddest things I've seen in a long time.

What a waste! But what some call trash, others call art.

It makes me think of all the loving caring couples in this world who are infertile, meanwhile every lowlife s#!thead is able to reproduce and abuse their baby.

This is why (leave it to me to turn philosophical) I'm an atheist. For if there is an all powerfull god, he must be a real d!ckhead for all the pain, suffering, and injustice he allows to happen. Meanwhile his top three commandments are to love and obey him.

Therefore I must concluded either there is no god, or he is an apathetic and egocentric a$$wipe.

The pope is dead... big deal. Took him 20 years into his papacy to finally decide that maybe the catholic church's anti-semitism was wrong, and he would prefer to shuffle around pedolphiles and forgive and forget about them, rather than having them serve time. To think people want to make him a saint. Hell give me access to a wealth of nations so I can travel around the world pushing my thoughts onto other people, then maybe I can become a saint to.

But god has nothing to do with it - just lousy management at ford.

Agreed.

The rest is way off topic. I'll just leave it at that before I get way off topic.

Back to the car with the spinners.... MyBlueOval was eloquent in the line "What some call junk, other's call art." I am a believer in the long lost belief of "to each his own".... If I wanted to paint my 05 titty pink and put huge blue ghost ponies down the side with 22" spreewell "dubs", a fake webber kit sticking out the hood and a Carbon-Dioxide Cold Kit to puff out the front like Puff the Magic Dragon, it is my car. I paid for it. It may be offensive to many, but it makes me happy, it is a personal expression of my unique self. My dad and his friends did it back on the 50s with the chopped Buicks and Ford Customs. It was, what it was. and it is, what it is. A very personal expression of myself. NOW.... mind-you I PERSONALLY WOULD NEVER DO IT. But, at this point in my life, I just don't feel it necessary to waste any energy on an opinion of someone's car. I have other life-things that steal all my thunder.... LOL... Like a sick mom, a energetic 7 year old, bills, work, a economy in transition that is making my milk and gas triple what it was 8 years ago.

Hmmmm.... wonder how much he spent on the rims? Can't even imagine. Probably enough to cover my mom's $530 monthly medications a couple times over. Wonder if I can hook up with him. I need some help with my mom's medical costs. Hahahahaha.... Just kidding...

Just trying to make a little pointed reminder....

That car would look a little better with the wing 2 to 3 feet higher, bigger wheels and lower profile tires. I never understood it, if your going to do neon, do neon. It needs to look like a sign from one of those old pubs.

Why the obsession with chromed 20+ inch wheels...especially with floaters or spinners...on a passenger car? They look flat out stupid!

I beg to differ with you......tastefully done they raise a magnificent Pony to the next level.....an equal among import sedans! At half the cost.
On a stang they can elevate it to looks beyond any beamer or benz, and it is way more fun to drive.

The spinners...nah!!!!!!!!!!!

Remember the key is tasteful.....

I could be sold on a set of tasteful 20" wheels but I was referring to the chromed out "dubs" with floaters and spinners. I don't think you'll see anything coming out of Germany or Italy with those monstrosities attached! The whole "if it's bigger and shiny it must be better" philosophy is so American...size, shine and price are not a proxy for quality and elegance!

I see this type of crap on the road all the time here in SoCal. I've seen sets of wheels on 15 year old Honda Accords that probably cost more than the car. Ridiculous.
