This is what happens when you try to launch @ 7000rpm with unwelded axle tubes. (Shalom: )

Sorry man... Question...: Why the hell would you launch at 7000?
The tires would surely light up, but how far PAST 7k were you intending on going? Once you let out the clutch, you would probably bounce up to seventy-BOOM, if you didn't destroy that rear end.

It is a friends car (shalom96 on corral.net), It is a n/a stroked 4.6 with fully ported 03 cobra heads, custom cams, and an Al Pappito short runner 99/01 intake, 4.56 gears (going to 4.88s). It makes peak power around 7800 rpm and dynod 410 to the tires. On his first (and only!) run that night he launced at 6000rpm and slightly bogged (1.5x 60ft), ran an 11.39@120. Thats haulin for a naturally asperated mod motor! On the next pass he brought it up to 7000 to eliminate the bog: KABOOM(It dead hooked). He should have it back together soon. Maybe he'll be able to rip off that ten second run. (Edited for dyno # and e.t correction.)

His fault fo trying to get the best time out of the car? Or for not welding and bracing the tubes?
