overheating

i ve search and cannot find any rock solid answers. ok this is a 2000 2v he spun a rod bearing on #4 so we pulled the motor and made the repair. now when we try to warm it up it just overheats like we have a air pocket in the block. any help? we have tried everthing. thanks

the best way is to use a vaccum bleed setup but I doubt you have access to one.

Without access to that you can try to fill it at the degas bottle and rev it slightly, up to about 2k rpm's to aid in breaking up air pockets. Don't worry coolant is going to spill out and overflow from the bottle.

worst case you can pull one of the heater hoses off and fill it there too.
