a V-1650-7 , dual stage super charged V-12 putting out rougly 1500HP

VS..

a V-8 in the 300-600 HP range, with a 4 speed

I was at a car show out of town and there was a fly in at the local airport across the street. The P51 owner gave me permission, and I had to track down the airboss to get permission to get on the ramp. I'll never get another chance like that in a million years. most p51's are behind barracades or ropes
much less let somebody drive up to them
