color looks good, but I'm not digging the stripes. They are ok, but take away from the overall look. Just an opinion though.

I love burnt copper as a muscle car colour. I also don't like the stripes. Maybe satin black to make them more subtle?

I actually really like the new Sonic Blue they have. Down the road when I repaint the 5.0 it will be Sonic Blue. It is a very sharp color and would look awesome on a Cobra.

There are piles of blue cobras. Interesting point, when the first cars were being produced and sent out to showrooms, they were painted all different colours to give the illusion that there were plenty to go around. If they were all red, for example, they worried that people would think it was the same car they were seeing and that it was perhaps exotic and unattainable.

Color looks good but the stripes clash and don't follow/compliment the body lines.

i like the base color, however the stripes bug me. they just dont look right. my thinking is that you ghost in stripes with a similar copper color, perhaps a shade either darker or lighter. also contour the stripes so they fit the car. otherwise, very nice

Danny me boy-o, body color is excellent!
Problems I see with the stripes......white and gray combo really doesn't meld with the body color, not to mention their position on the front fender (perhaps broader and down the door) and whatever you do....lose the gray horizontal stripe.

I also like the "traditional" white longitudenal stripes up the middle scheme.

But, when all is said and done, it is your car, you paint her the way you want her!

I have to agree with the others. Either go with the Lemans stripes like RM suggested or none at all.

The color does look awesome...

The stripe is hard to represent here, but I have it taped on the car, not bad looking. I'll post a pic when the weather permits. Maybe we can photo-shop color scheme?

Love that color, maybe if you moved the stripes up a little over the fender well at more of an angle?

With a little photo chopping you'll make it work. All the faith in the world on that.

I like the copper color.. but like most of the above I think the color combination on the stripes could be better.. how about a black and a darker copperish color?

I've found some sources of Carbon Fiber Vinyl tape. Thinking of covering the dash to give it that look.

What about the stripe from Carbon-Fiber tape with white edging?

Basically, I have settled on a semi-comp look for the car, already have a front spoiler, and adding NACA ducts in the rear of the hood. I will paint it a shade of burnt orange, kinda like the new GM/Ford color, but am determined to do something unique with stripes. As many of you know me, and I refuse to follow the herd. It will be unique when it is done!

Well since you have to be completely obstinate and go against the grain, how about a "bullseye" pattern of stripes on the hood, doors and trunk lid, it will also give you that "semi-comp" look you're looking for......................

NOW FOR THE HIJACKING!!!.................
Went to see the Rolling Stones in concert at MSG tonight....as awesome as ever, even if the crowd is getting even older. One guy, about my age, was there with his three teenage kids, but he didn't seem to enjoy the show much....must say his two daughters were into it!
Coolest part is where my buddy Jon and I went to eat before the show.......he told me I'd know the place when I saw it, and damned if he wasn't right......a little bar 'n' grill a couple of blocks from The Garden named, get this................."Mustang Sally's"!!! Have to say the food was pretty good too!

Sounds like when I saw the Moody Blues last year. Most of the crowd had AARP cards, and needed Handicap parking! I swear the couple in front of me had a walker!

Now to Re-Hi-Jack, I have seen stripes that were tire tracks, checkered flags, American flags, and others. I refuse to do a traditional car, which has always been the case! Even back when I built the Deceiver in 1982-1985, it was considered radical for it's day, as modifieds were not in favor back then. Even Chepie was different, as it seems I was ahead of the curve with it as well. Could I be starting another trend?

I also like the color but have a hard time with the strips. Maybe if they were curved to match the curve of the wheel opening. And maybe if they were a different color scheme.
