Paint my wheels black?

I have a set of 03 cobra's with DR's i use for the track only, i was thinking about painting them black, what do you guys think? also what should i use to paint/prep them?

If you do it, just make sure you do a damn good prep job. I saw two different sets of wheels today that were painted black, and the paint was flaking off. They really looked like ****.

But if you can do it right, it would really work for that car!

i have painted a wheel or two in my time and can prep well but just curious if anyone recommends a certain paint and it it would look good?

if your gonna rattle can it, make sure you use primer and clean the wheels thoroughly before hand...

I think the silver is a nice contrast for all the black.

I'd do a dark bronze color, but I like that kinda look.

Shame. I just sold a set of black saleens (18x9/18x10)....

I say no. Although a wheel (not those) in a dark gunmetal would look killer.

Polish the outsides and paint the insert part of the wheels black.

Don't ever paint wheels. Powdercoat is the way to go. It will never ever flake off and it is durable. My buddie got the chrome stripped off his truck wheels and powdercoated for 30 bucks a wheel.

God punishes those who choose paint or powdercoat over a perfectly good set of factory wheels. Just an FYI.

lol these are literally on my car maybe twice a year for one night, i was just trying to get a project going cause i know i can take my time and make them look good, i have had good success with it before when i was younger. i really could care less about these wheels
