Well I got bored today and decided to paint my barbed wire license plate frames black. Since they're cheap and easily replaced, I just used some indoor/outdoor rustoleum, not worried if they get ruined. But I've also decided I want to get rid of all the silver on the exterior, which is mainly the pony and GT logos. The question is, what paint is the right paint to use, I don't want to just use whatever's around the house on permanent pieces of the car. Has anybody else done this? I was gonna paint the pony blue and black, and the GT badge black, with a blue background.

If I were going to do that, I would scuff the emblems and pony up real good with a scotchbright pad, clean them with alcohol, spray on 2 coats of primer and 2 to 3 light coats of paint. I would probably use Duplicolor primer and paint from the auto parts store.

Thanks, maybe I'll hit Pep Boys today, I still have 4 days of vacation left. When I actually get it done I'll post pictures (if it doesn't come out looking like crap).

don't forget a few coats of clear. I forgot that part the first time I did my pony, it chipped bad. No chips the 2nd time, but I decided I didn't like the black pony much and swapped it out.
