im almost ready for paint, and up until recently, i was thinking black top, bodyline down; dark dark gunmetal metallic with a bright blue pinstripe seperating the two. thing is, im probably gonna have a targa top before summer, and my interior is tan leather, and i was thinking these colors woulld clash (tan and gunmetal). then i was thinking orange on the bottomside with a brown pinstripe seperating them, but im not sure how good that would look. ideas?

here are some pics

I would still vote for gunmetal on the bottom...with no stripe in between.

You plan on spending the $3500 those new targa top kits cost? They are supposed to be really really nice...but damn....$3500 is a lot.

The gen 2 top is supposed to have a lot of cool features. You definately gotta keep us updated on that project:SNSign:

i dont know about alot of cool features. its available in glass, and composite tops, but the latch mechanism is striaght outta 80's crapmaros it appears. my design ideas are superior and i plan on sitting down with the guys over there soon to go over some of my ideas, after they sign a confidentiality agreement of course..
ill go through my project on the site, im basically doing it because i have a roof thats dented to crap, so i thought of putting a composite skin over it, that idea turned into a removable hardtop, but i believe targa is more practical for when you get caught in the rain, unless you have a vert already...
1)paint
2)panhard bar
3)torque arm
4) targa top

by march i should have it well underway..

I had also been tossing around ideas of a blue bottom black top scheme.

What wheels do u plan on using? I think it will look good.

Thats a tough one. That red/black cobra looked great with the chrome wheels. Its like, u could do the black wheels, with smoked headlights, tinted tail lights(or black bezels), with a good window tint job and it will look killer.

Maybe one of the photoshop gods can work up some examples...that way u cant really go wrong

That blue is pretty cool. Someone traded a Leguna Seca Blue M3 Conv. in on a Vette. That was a sweet car!

All of these painting threads makes me want to do mine next winter.. too bad I dont have a garage to work in. I think I'll paint mine Sonic Blue or GM Laser Blue..
