I'm going to do all the sanding and body work to my car before I get it sprayed somewhere. Does anyone have any tips as far what stuff to use or anything on actually how to do it? I got the basics down and the car is straight, no rust that is visible. Most likely just going to stick with black although dark grey does have my attention. Thanks

PREP work is the key!!!:Word:

I did the same as executioner, on the local Vo-tech school. Wanted my 86 painted So I signed up for classes just t paint it now in my last 1/4 and will have a diploma in Auto Body & Paint. Didn't mean for all this, but figured heck, I started, might as well finish it... You can see my 86 I painted in my sig on page 2. And the pics below is a 93 vert I painted for a guy about a 1.5 years ago while attending class..

if you are hand sanding then i would use 120-240 grit sand paper and get a sanding block.

you only need to sand the clear coat off or in some cases (acrillic) just sand the shinieness out of the paint.

if you are using a DA the make sure that you keep the pad as flat as possible at all times

when you get to sanding the bumpercovers always (imo) hand sand...and if you see yellow STOP.

if anyone dissagrees with me... well, then maybe im wrong about something.
