The little plastic thingy outside with the vents that the wipers are attached to....anyone know of anyone that has painted those black to look new, or even painted the same color as the car, like we do with the mirrors?...PICS?

Please dont post to use "back to black"!! That stuff is crap. Would like to paint it when I take it apart.

Thanks
RC

I used Dupont's trim black paint can. Looks brand new and has held up perfectly after three years

It looks awesome and has held up perfectly. The cowl is not hard to get off as people make it sound. You must have to be really antsy to get it off if everyone is cracking them.

You have a "head on" picture of that, like high up on a stool or something.

Thanks for the info on the black stuff, but IM looking more for painted the same color as the car...not sure how that would hold up. If not, the Fusion or that other stuff will do for me.

THanks

I don't have a head on pic, but I'll try to get one later today or tommorrow.

I think 69clark's is painted white to match his car. I also know Kevin Williams of SRD had both the red and blue car's cowl painted to match.

Pic would be great...Ill talk to the painter to see the practicality of doing the same color.

Thanks

Krylon Fusion, no priming needed and it comes out nice.

Painting it the same color might look ok on a darker colored car, but I wouldn't do it on a brighter color like Laser Red. Then again what do I know, I think body color mirrors look horrible on our cars.

If you just want to restore the factory color, try this. It's a million times better than Back to Black and won't wash off. http://www.duragloss.com/product.asp?pid=285
