has anyone here had their mirrors painted? I went to SEVERAL places, and nobody would guarantee me a quality job because of the mirror material. They said they would do it, but the paint will eventually start to chip off....any info?

How much did you pay for yours snkchmr? I went to the dealer and the wanted $195 each and that was not painted.

I got a set from a buddy of mine already painted Oxford White for $150. Don't ask, won't tell.

My car has the rear tail light bezels, side mirros, and the piece between the hood and windshield all painted the same color as the car. The first owner had it done (i am the 3rd owner), i dont know where he went or how much he paid for the work to be done. I have had no problems with chipping, fading, or anything else, they look perfect. Most people dont even notice it untill i point everything out. The car should come stock with them painted as far as i am concerned.

thank you for the response...I also meant to ask about the piece between the hood and the windshield. How is the finish on it? Is it perfectly smooth like the rest of the car's paint, or is there a little graininess to it?

the work done on that saleen is very nice. It makes the car look allot smoother having the mirrors and cowl painted.

It looks like he got everything painted and cleared just like the car, but i dont actually wax those pieces so they arent as smooth as the regular car parts.

And the finish is great, no complaints. I would run outside and take a better picture, but i dont have the software to upload my camera pictures on my new desktop.

I will see if i have a better picture.

They are sitting next to my tool box at work I'm not entirely sure if i want to keep these rims. My friend said that if i didnt like them he would buy them from me. I would really like to get my year Saleen rims, just chrome and 10" in the back. If you are interested in buying my old ones, pm me.

Do you all have any problems with the painted mirrors getting scratched, nicked, chipped, etc??

My old Firebird (sorry for using the F word here) came from the factory with painted mirrors. Some accessory places would sell "mirror bras" to protect them because hanging out there, the mirrors were targets for all sorts of things hitting them (rocks, branches, people, etc).
