RIO5.0 said:Mike....i use PPG Concept....single stg urethane (base&clear) combined and get excellant results...we paint all kinds of stuff with it...never an issue with heat, chipping, peeling, blistering...stuff is the balls...spraying clear on a block??? got me on that one...i do know this stuff works...just mix it up and shoot it til you get the look you want...it'll look powdercoated...
you have to get the reducer/harder and such that works with it...you can get it in any increment your want, 1/2 pint, quart, whatever...just choose your color out of the PPG book at the paint shop and they'll mix it up...cheap money to...You'll love the results and its super easy to paint with....
See all the cans on the Right...dark Blue labels....we have all kinds of colors we use with it...
Did up this block....
More than a few intakes...this is how it sprays out....done deal...

I did a base coat clear coat, and It held up just fine.. Clean the block very good, mask off what you don't want painted, and just spray away. I didn't use anything special, and mine looked A+ and held up just fine. Its nice when the block matches the car color ( adds a nice touch, IMO)
Another step farther would be to sand the block smooth and paint it.. but thats going a little far for a street car (might run a tad warmer) and really isn't nessesary to win car shows
Here was mine.. Painted the pan too

No, they stripped all the paint off at the machine shop. I was gonna paint it gloss black because I didn't want 2 different shades of red in the engine bay, but I found some extra Laser Red paint so Im gonna give that a try.89 blue lx said:yeah i would hope you would do this because isnt your block still yellow?
