I have been cleaning up my engine bay in bits and pieces and now I want to paint the underside of my fiberglass hood. i want to paint it a semi-gloss black color. is there any necessary prep involved other than the the obvious? I was thinking that i should first clean the surface good, go over it with some garnet paper - fine sandpaper that is, wipe it down with a cloth to get the loose residue off, hit it with one coat of black primer, then two coats of semi-gloss black. temperature in the engine compartment is not a concern since i have the stomrin norman hood with the two open vents. any suggestions, ideas or input? thanks.
