Im thinking of sanding the moldings (is that what you call it?) on the back two windows on my gt and then taping it off with some paper and painting them. What has every one used to paint them?
I did one side about a month ago. I found that you need to sand it absolutely smooth with no roughness to get it to come out looking top quality. I needed to do a lot more sanding than I did, but it still looks better than before I started.
I recommend that you mask the metal and glass before you start sanding. The tape will protect the paint & glass if you get too near the edges. If you have the windows removed (I didn't), then you can skip this step.
I did this with the windows still on my car... started with about 120grit and got to 400... not smooth enough at all, but like jrichker said... alot better than i started with
I did mine back in the day, set aside at least a day to get the windows off, sanded, sanded some more, painted and back on the car. most likely it is going to come out with waves, but if you're poor like most of us, it will do the job. Some company uses a resin to fill the holes, it might be just a regular fiberglass resin, but im not sure. Anyway good luck.
