Parts????

Since my car has 150k and I will be rebuilding it real soon. I want to start buying some of my parts now. Like a new hi flow water pump (is it worth it), AC pump, power steering pump, larger volume radiator that fits without mods (is it worth it). Which brand and who has these parts $$$ ? Also I would like to replace all of the hoses under the hood with braided lines. Will I need special fittings and adapters and who has them $$$ ?

Like a new hi flow water pump (is it worth it), [DONT KNOW IF ANYONE MAKES A HIGH FLOW FOR OUR CARS]

AC pump-[HAVE TO REPLACE 134A REFRIGERANT (I HAVE A USED PUMP FOR SALE)]

power steering pump-[IS IT LEAKING?] (HAVE ONE OF THOSE FOR SALE AS WELL (USED)

larger volume radiator that fits without mods (is it worth it) -[OUR CARS SUCK AT COOLING IN WARM TEMPS...IT WILL HELP BUT ITS GONNA COST YOU!]

Which brand and who has these parts $$$ ?

Also I would like to replace all of the hoses under the hood with braided lines. Will I need special fittings and adapters and who has them $$$ ?-[YOU ARE LOOKING AT LITERALY HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS TO DO THIS...IMO I WOULD RATHER USE THAT MONEY TOWARDS MODS THAT MAKE POWER...ALSO IMO JUST GET QUALITY GOOD YEAR OR SIMILAR REPLACEMENT HOSES]

GOOD LUCK!

ford makes a high volume water pump that sells for about $45

also might want to replace timing chain and balencer.

a high volume oil pump is only like $30

you can get all the parts from summit with free shipping

i wouldnt worry too much about hoses unless they are in bad shape

do you plan on changing heads, cam or intake in the future? if so then i would wait and do it all at once

I plan 331 stroker, AFR heads, new intake manifold, cam, fuel pump etc. I just figure if I buy some of the stuff now it tends to be less of a hit on the wallet later.

I'll check on the ford pump thanks. I know its gonna cost $$ thats why I want to buy the stuff as I can aford it :D

You are smart to think about your cooling system.

After my h/c/i my temps went up too much.

I dropped in a Fluidyne with no probs whatsoever. I also went with a Stewart high flow wp.

Both items dropped the temps down quite nicely.

hey 5-0 my set up will almost be like yours only a 331 and as per Ed Curtis AFR185's and FTI cam. I'm shooting for a smog legal sleeper street car that puts down over 300rwhp :D :nice: I am probably going to use G-force for my T5 rebuild. Since I'm gonna do this whole rebuild I figure everything will be new zero miles.

We look forward to seeing how the stroker turns out.

Working with Ed is a trip. I really did enjoy working with him and he gave me everything I expected and more. Be sure you hound him for a for a few of his secrets, lol.

As far as the radiator go with Fluidyne - perfect drop in (Summit Racing $379). Why spend good money on parts that need to be modified to fit - and as a result of the modification, you void all warranties (these companies are slick). Spend the few extra bucks for true "direct fit" parts. Just one man's opinion. Peace

if you are going to go with afr,i just tried ordering some from jegs there is a 3 month back order.called summit ordered the twisted wedge heads and picked them up the same day, dropping them off today to get ported.ford motorsport and goodyear both sell blue hoses, the goodyears are darker and less $$.the ford ones are all silicone the gy's are not.just wanted to let you know about the heads though.
