Interior and Upholstery Passenger Window Won't Go Up Help

my passenger window will let down but will not go up. I've changed switches with no results. I'm losing my ground somehow. I ran a jumper wire and it will go up butt he wire gets really hot. Any ideas??

Take it apart. Make sure it isn't binding. The bushings in the motor may need replacing. Cheap and common fix.

Would that also cause me to lose my ground??

You ran a jumper drectly from the battery positive or ground?

To my knowledge the ground is screwed onto the door itself.

Yes the ground is screwed into the driver door. I used a test light on the passenger side switch. I am losing the ground going up so I put a jumper wire from the switch to the door and the motor worked

Is it one window or both?

I think you narrowed it down to the wiring.

Just the passenger side. It will let down fine but will not go up. The drivers side is fine
