they don't come with any cams. and since they are ported that will help with the compression although it still might go up some. You can use a thicker gasket from cometic to lower the compression. And if your ordering heads from patriot, why not order a set of blower cams custom made for you...they give you a price break when ordering both togrther..did you look at their website? http://sites.reachtheworld.tv/waterNew/default.asp?T=505244&DID=1225

PI heads will raise your compression on a stock 96-98 GT block. Thicker head gaskets will help, Cometic is the way to go but they cost about . They sell cams and will ship everything to you completely assembled. Talk to Gunnar, he is very very helpful and friendly.

The head gaskets cost how much? when you say "they", are you talking about pat performance heads? Thanks

yes search about 2 years back or so they had problems - those issues have been recognized and have since been resolved.

Thats not true. I have those heads on my car, and you know the part that failed to get my car in the shop? Crower valve springs, not installed or sold by Patriot. The heads have been solid for me, and make nice numbers in case nobody has noticed

gotta remember most people on these forums don't have a clue! So they just repeat everything they read, so if someone asks about a problem then the repeats come out from the basement. I was about to order the MPH heads but the Patriot price is sooooo good. I can get stage 3 heads and cams for 1900ish...or get just heads from everyone else.

it wasn't here & it wasn't someone who knows nothing. i'll see if i can find the thread

if you cut corners doing a build, you usually pay for it twice, when you have to have it done over. but like i said i hope they have fixed their problems
