PCV blown out??

A week or two after I did the mods in my sig, I started to notice an oil leak under the car. It seemed to be coming from the back of the engine. Just this morning I finally got a chance to check it out. I found the PCV valve was blown out of its normal spot and just sitting near the hole. Oil is coming out of the hole and leaking down the engine and transmission. What causes this and what can I do to fix it.

is the rubber gromet that goes into the lower intake ok?

it should be, it is was new when I did the work.

Did you reuse the stock PCV hose ? I have a Typhoon intake and reused the stock hose and it would end up working its way out too because it was a little longer.

I honestly don't remember which hoses I replaced. I plan on replacing it now along with the PCV valve, grommet, and screen. Do you think this will help this?

mine used to blow out on my 95 GTS, due to a pressurised crankcase... i just it blew oil all over the firewall... i got a new one and put some silicone on it.. no problems after that

I have oil all over the firewall too. Did you silicone the pcv into the grommet?

its the crankcase pressure making the oil fly by.. and out the hole.. What I did was place a breather on the valve cover, to release some pressure and I got a Steeda Oil Separator Kit, click link to find out more..

And like fords2fast4u said.. put some silicone on it (valve, grommet) and that should keep any oil from flying by.

I have a breather on the pass side valve cover already. Should I put one on the other side too. I already have another breather.

assuming the PCV components fit properly, if someone has that much pressure in the crankcase, i would address that problem rather than welding a grommet in that was never meant to have to withstand that much pressure, as a bandaid.

one might get the grommet to seat but the other seals will be letting oil fly.

i think i must not understand the problem.

I had the same prob. i bought a new grommet at the ford dealer and the tech recommended to put 1 wrap of electrical tape around the out side of the pcv valve and to make sure the hose is of proper lenth. If it come out again ther are other problems. It worked for me.

that's right, i remember now, i did put a breather on the valve cover...

Is it a Motorcraft PCV valve? None of the aftermarket PCV's fit tightly enough in the grommet.
