PCV valve ?'s

try that, because now that i think about it, in the box with my motorcraft pcv there was that F piece in there also just not attached.

Just pull the F part off the top of the PCV Valve. All of the Motorcraft PCV's I bought came this way.

Yeppers! The 94-95's use that F- connector, and other 5.0L powered cars use both nipples - hence their being there. The last Motorcraft valve I bought had the F part separate in the box. Otherwise, for a fox just break the F off (like Spyne said).

are you sure about that because the one i pulled off of my 95 did not have the F? if so someone must have changed mine out and did something to the vac lines before i had the car. i only have one 3/8 line going to my pcv.

I I hooked the 3/8 hose up and started the car and from the other line on the valve it started blowing out air. There was a random hose that I saw that matched perfectly with it and I put it on and it stopped. Should there only be one hose on if so how do I stop the leak? Thanks

All of the F pcvs I have bought have had a small plug for the small outlet. You should be able to plug the small hole and only use the large one. If not just break off the plastic F fitting like everyone else suggested. It may also depend on how it is easiest to route the pcv hose to the intake.

As far as the random line, you need to find out what that was. Worst case scenario is it is the source of a vac leak, best case is it is the supply to something that didn't work before (climate control or cruise control). Either way you will be happier if you find out where it goes. Let us know if you find out what it is/where it routes to.

Something else to consider is that air was blowing out of the extra fitting on the pcv. This suggests that you have more blowby than vac. It may be a good idea to perform a compression and/or leakdown tests. Might be worth worrying about, and might not.

yep - I am sure. the stock molded hose bends in from the side - not from the top (as you know, there is about no room to have an OEM hose come in from the top - you can, but it is easier from the side, hence the 90* F-connector).

Jason is right - the valve should have come with a little vac plug. that does go on the little port. 3/8" line is correct for the PCV hose.

FWIW, in stock form, the line leaves the PCV valve and goes to the driver side rear of the plenum. It hits a Tee there. That molded hose is about 6-8" long.
