This is probably a stupid question, but can I use any coil with the Pertronix Ignitor Kit??? because I was thinking about using the Accel Super or Super Stock Coil and I wanted to be sure there wasnt any problems before I spent my money.

Thanks just wanted to make sure, but I have one more question...

Ive been hearing alot about making sure you have a full 12 volts to the flamethrower coil, would I need the same voltage if I used a different coil???

I ran an MSD Blaster 2 and Ialso had to deal had that crap. If you are running the resistor wire that comes straight from the ignition or tach, then you will have 12 volts. Some people have to use a ballast resistor if their systems do not work properly. I myself did not need it.

The instructions with the coil will tell you. I'm runnung an MSD Blaster that requires the resistor wire so my Pertronix has a seperate 12V source directly from the ignition before it splices into the resistor wire.

What about with HEI units, should you run an unrestricted wire to those?

I'm pretty certain the Pertronix I & II both use coils designed for points ignition. I'm using a their Flamethrower with the I unit and a Mallory Promaster for points with the II unit in my Ranger

Always check the coils instructions to find out. Some coils have the ballast built in, some do not.
