thinking about grills...

Blacked out pony:

Bullitt:

Center Fogs:

But this is what prompted me to post. I call it the Jackistan Grille. Probably, you could only run this grill if you had like 600 horsepower. Otherwise its just too badass for you.

No, but actually, it doesn't look terrible. I'd take that over the catfish Mustang. But I still wouldn't do it LOL.

I say go Bullitt with it.

Thats pretty good Ken, but you'll have to deal with my lawyers. Mine is patent pending. (Dibs!)

I've actually ordered a Cervini Grill, so thats what will go in there. I should have some new pics (real) next week once the install is done.

...what is the Catfish mustang?

what type Cervini grill you going with ? I have a running horse emblem, plinth and rear mount I'm going to give to someone who is in need. That friend of mine who made all those that Ford wouldn't take has sent me a few. You can see it in my avatar I think.

This is the grill I bought.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120455913044&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOIBSA:MOTORS:1123

It comes with the horse attached. (unless the guy takes it off, which I doubt) I also have a horse from my current 3D carbon grill that I am replacing. (The center fogs never looked right without stripes)

Those were a smokin deal on smaller grill tri-bar ponies. I just wish I had a use for them. I am sure I will think of something once they are all sold. They would probably look pretty good on the interior dash panels.

I'd go for the Bullitt grille! It looks really good with the darker cars I never did care for the GT fogs on mine (no matter where they were placed). I love the way they look on the GT500 and Roush (down low at the corners)!
Those are some good AND funny grilles! All set for night time rallies!

...you HAD to ask about the "Catfish" Stang

I doubt they'll all sell anytime soon. He has 2,000 of them. I found the guy on e-bay. He and I started talking back and forth and we got to be friends. He owns DRS Industries in Ohio who contracts parts for Ford. Very, very nice guy. Anyway, Ford put in a huge order for the emblems. After Dean had run a couple thousand the Ford boys said they wanted them to look a bit different. So now he's stuck with boxes and boxes of them. He told his son whatever money he could get back from selling the emblems that they'd use to fly to Reno to see the air races. I bought 1 emblem and Dean sent me 3 emblems, 2 plinths, a handful of palnuts and 4 mounting brackets. I have no part of the sale, I send everyone right to Dean. And he's losing money on everyone he sells but I'd like to see him recoup something from his dealings with Ford and take his son to the air races. As a father of 6 I know how important it is to spend time with the kids before they grow up. Anyway, long story, but he's a great guy so since I post on several Mustang boards I told him I'd advertise a bit and see if I could give him a little more exposure than just his e-bay site. It's the least I can do for him. I put an ad here on the national classifieds for him as well as mustangforums and allfordmustangs.

I'm actually glad I asked, in that, I know the horrors. I now consider myself older and wiser.. fond of the innocent times before I knew of the catfish mustang.

Seriously.. what is sad. If I had access to the molds and material, I think I could make a decent body kit. And yet, somehow this designer made it all the way to a paintbooth. sad...

it really does hurt if you just stare at it.

Do you know what they were for? I am guessing some sort of billet grille option on the 2010 Mustang?

I don't see how Ford can order something and then change its mind. Looks to me like Ford would be stuck unless he made them without a written contract or order.

dunno, that's a good question, I never thought to ask. Next time I talk to him I'll find out.

stanmckinney, I would have thought the same, I didn't ask him that either. I do know it's pretty easy for huge companies to put a little pressure on a small manufacturer/supplier. You know; "take care of this little problem for us and I'll make sure the bid goes your way next time". But I really don't know, that's pure speculation.
