Ok I've decided to do the full pi swap before I do anything else to the car. I'm also getting stg.1 cams and MAYBE a P&P job. I found a pair of '03 pi heads with 30,000 miles on them for $375. They are fully assembled except for rockers and lifters which aren't included. I can easily find the pi intake for under $200. My question is does the price on the heads seem to good to be true? Also, I know there are a lot of small parts I need also but I'm not sure what all i need. Parkway Performance still sells their full PI kit for a little over $1300 on ebay. I think it would be much easier to buy that, but much cheaper to buy it piece by piece. Besides the heads, cams, intake, how much would all the extra little parts add up to? BTW, modular depot will more than likely be doing the install and tune. Maybe if i just have the heads, cams, intake modular depot could get the other parts for me? What do you guys think?

I did my PI swap by getting used stuff. 350 shipped for low mile 03 heads/cams. 110 shipped for 03 PI intake. then got all the gaskets,PI coolant tube etc from Randy on Mod Depot..Total wound up costing me @800. Buying new does give you some assurance your not going to have faulty heads etc.

If you want cams and P&P heads then don't be like me and waste time and money...buy them from the start...I'd suggest just getting your heads with cams from VT, or Modular Powerhouse etc. Will save you money in the long run.

I got the Parkway Performance kit, because I didn't have time to be searching for all the parts you need. I got the kit for $1350 shipped and I had it installed by a friend of mine that only charged me $200 and it took him 2 days to do it. The good thing about getting the kit is that you know that the heads are new and not damaged.

MUSTANG_GT_98, this is off topic, but how much did it cost to have those LTs installed (unless you did it yourself) and how big of a gain did they give you? I'm wondering because after my pi swap, that will be the next big power mod I'll start saving for.

I had them installed at a local muffler shop for like $100. Not to sure how much power I gain but you could fill the difference. As of right now I had the car tune to 275hp and 313tq that was with out the nitrous.

I've been in the same boat with my '98 for a while and this is my plan for my pig: LT's, Mid-pipe, 75mm TB/Plenum then acquiring a centrifical blower (Procharger). While that's in place, I plan to build a forged PI stroker short block, add some P&P heads w stage II or III cams and either a Bullitt or P51 Manifold. Remove the old NPI motor, transfer the blower and headers and drop the new beast in. Might take about a year to build the motor as I'll be buying parts a little at a time but at least I can enjoy some performance while I wait.

i think it really depends on how much you want to spend. if you want the absolute cheapest route then piece together the heads/cams/intake from ebay and what not. if you got some dough to burn i'd go with some vt or mph heads and cams with a pi intake (or p51 if you have even more dough to burn). either way i'd head over to moddepot and get all the other remaning stuff (gaskets, tubes, etc.) from randy and that should save you some.
