PI valves and PI valve springs?
Just got back from the local Ford dealership and now I'm confused. I am porting and polishing a set of PI heads and wanted to replace the valve springs and a couple of intake valves that had excessive stem wear. The heads are of 2000 year model vintage. In any case, the first thing the salesman asks me is what the VIN number was. I have no clue as these heads were purchased stand alone and not with a car. They are intended to go on my 1996 GT. He states that for the Windsor and Romeo engines, each have separate part number's and prices for both valve springs and intake valves. I thought a PI head was a PI head was a PI head..... The only difference I am aware of are the camshaft caps. He even went so far as to show me on the computer screen as I did not believe him. In any case, the Romeo valve springs sold for $3.49 each; the Windsors $9.83 each. As far as the Intake valves, the Romeos sold for $13.78 each; the Windsors $8.37 each. What gives?
