Picked up my 96 Cobra today... a couple questions.

I picked up my 96 Cobra today from the dealership and after puuting a good 80 miles on it I must say I'm impressed... coming from owning many a vette it's a different car... but in a good way. (Doesn't kill my back, I can get in and out of it MUCH easier)

One thing I've notice and not sure about... if the car is stopped and you jerk the steering wheel to the left or right, I get a loud click/tap sound coming from the front wheel area. Knowing these use the same front brakes as later model C4 vettes I'm thinking the brakes might be missing the caliper retention springs that mount to the pads.. but this is just a wild guess. Any thoughts on this?

And secondly... there is no owners manual with this car.. where in the heck in the wheel lock removal key kept? (If it's even in the car) It's kind of hard to look at the tapping noise when I can't get the dang tire off!

I can't help you with the noise, but your wheel key should be attached to the lug wrench under the spare tire.

Thanks... thats another item that isn't in the car. Dealer is going to get me a wrench from another 96 tomorrow, but will have to getthe locks tacken off somewhere most likely.

I think the noise might be a tie rod... it's too loud to be brake clips.
