She needs a new clutch (spec 3+), new top (AM price is unbeatable), and a good tune (local race shop develops products and is the only local KB authorized dealer). After that I will overhaul the suspension.
I will do the clutch and top myself. I am kinda worried about the top I'm not big on body work, I'll figure it out, any advice?
I'd recommend a Center force dual friction over Spec3. I've had both and the CF feels way lighter and still holds all the power. My stang makes 592hp/530ftlbs.
There are a couples sites out there that gives tips on doing a new top. Easy to find w/ Google and a couple sites like Mustangs Unlimited have the cobra tops w/ rear window for $550-$600. I need a new one but I'd feel better taking it to a shop.
another reason why people should be patient when shopping around, because every now n then, a good deal comes up. Even if the car is a complete mess, u still have a lot of goodies from the looks of it.
I drove it home when I bought it, she runs strong. I'm not sure if the clutch is bad or I just need an adjustable cable. She doesn't grab a gear until the pedal is all the way up (if at all).
Guy I work with was moving to md and alredy had two cars to move, this one was a headache for him so he finally let her go. Funny thing is when we first met over 2 yrs ago I told him i'd give hime 5k for it, he said no way min I'll take is ten. 2yrs 4k and hardley driven since my initial offer, she needs some love but we'll get her going strong again.
