Pics: look at my right taillight, how can i get it shiney?

since ive owned the car, the right taillight has always been foggy, i think they replaced the left one sometime before i bought the car. Any ideas on what i may do to clean that up, amke it shiney?

3M plastic polish?? Never used it, but heard it was good stuff!

after you get the 3m plastic polish, the next thing on your list should be a eibach pro-kit. sorry, it just looks really jacked up but i've also heard good things about the 3m polish, i just cant find any of it

I had the same problem except my left one was bad. I used some 3M polish I have (not the plastic one) and it worked great! When I was done I ended up using it on the good one too, because my left one made the right look slightly faded. If you have any polish, just try it can't make it worse.

Just use some #0000 steel wool and clear spraypaint. That made my headlights look better then brand new.

Thats true, I used old chrome polish I found while cleaning the garage. I used it on my headlights and it worked well.

Dustin, I'll have to get back to you on that one. It was an automotive paint supply store just N. of Bethany Home on I think 12th St. I'll find out later tonight. They had all kinds of 3M products. I got the polish for my paint, and decided to try it on the tail lghts. If there are any stores like that in your area they'll probably have a decent selection too.

DONT Spray paint on there..

There are a lot of us that have done the following:

WET sand with 1000 grit or so. Then use polishing compound..and buff the h3ll out of it. that will "redden" them up really nice.

800 is ok...I usually say 1000 b/c the 800 is not so easy to find, and you cant stress enough that there are variable ways to achieve the same results.

Can you do that with the headlights? and doing that on the oudside will work?

Mother's chrome/billet polish will take it out the pink and leave a deep shiny gloss red with a couple coats. I used it on some of the used taillights sets I have bought.
Let me know how it works out.

I put up a thread a few months back on the sucess I had with polishing my head lights. They had been cleared by on of its previous owners and it was a bear to get off. Do a search under me and you'll find it. The results were simply amazing. I wet sanded with 1500 and then hit it with a plastic polish that I think was made by blue corral, I got it at autozone I think. If you find the thread you'll see exactly what I used with pics.
