Pics w/ my new Bullitt grille

Hey guys, I haven't been on Stangnet in a while, but I figured I'd update you with my projects. I just installed the Bullitt grill today, and I think it really cleaned up the front end. I had the stock GT grill, and there was just too much going on with my hood. I'm going to paint the silver rim black on the grill pretty soon.

Future plans for the appearance of the front end.....the PJ stang bumper, smoked headlights, headlight splitters, and tinted turn signals. I'm also going to paint the GT emblem black, as well as the trunk emblem black, and tint the tails. Thoughts, comments are welcomed.

Hell yeah! That looks good! Your future ideas sound good(esp the PJ front fascia). Thought about putting an emblem on the grill? Could possibly black that out as well to continue your "dark: scheme Thanks for sharing

Looks good. I like seeing the blower through the hood.

Where did you find the pony emblems for the FR500s? I've searched and searched and can't find anything that will fit properly.

I really don't like that hood, but man, I've got to think that car would look freaking intimidating if I saw it in my rear view mirror. The grille looks great, and I agree with you that it takes some noise away and creates a much cleaner look.

Well the FR500s are made for a 99-04. I had them on my 2004 GT, and I used the pony centercaps from the stock Bullits that came on my 04. They're a tiny bit loose, they spin a little, but they still stay in good enough for me.

Spray some VHT Nightshade over the Chrome GT emblem and pop it in there.

Hmmm... a dremel and lots of patience, perhaps? I wonder how that would work out. It would lose some structural integrity and would probably need a repaint, but I suppose you could add a wire frame behind the grill to reinforce it.

I'm not sure its entirely needed? It already has more openings that the stock grill, so do I really need to worry about it?

Doubt it. Looks like you're already getting plenty of air in with that hood.

yeah, that, plus, my intake is down close to the ground, behind my passenger side turn signal. So the engine gets plenty of air from down there, and the hood should take care of any cooling problems.

Well, first: zowieeee! It looks great. As it is, there is some contrasting all around. If all is black and/or smoke, the rims might stand out. As for more openings in the grill, its a purely aesthetic thing for me. When I look at the front end head on, I see a bunch of fake holes surrounding the real holes. (btw, ditto on the GT500 Grille) Purely aesthetic, never mind functionality. In an older thread, I seem to remember Kooldawg punched or sawed out most of the holes which made the car look - well, Kool. A 3D Carbon Eleanor is almost 90% open holes, which I find really pleasing. I was thinking of taking my stock grille and sawing out as many holes as I could - once I find out how to do it - and Id do one hole a day. Thanks for the opportunity to share.

I cut out every imaginable hole on the grill. It took a few hours with the Dremel using cutting discs and a drill bit type bit that cuts like a router. It doesn't at all look pretty from the backside, but is very possible to hardly, if at all notice the cut work from the front. Just knock down the rough edges with some sandpaper and call it a day or two The only painting I did on mine was the very front of the honeycomb to give it that metal look.
