I have an 89 5.0 with the following mods. pullies, msd, bbk intanke, bbk fuel reg,355 gears, k cobra clutch,8.5 mm FR wires, 255lph fuel pump, and thats about it. nothing drastic. car has always ran like a dream until recently. when its a bit cold and i put the car in a little load it feels like i get fuel cut. once the car warms up it runs good. i thought it was the fuel pump seeing that it only happened while i accelerated the car, so i changed the pump. still nothing, changed my fuel filter and plugs and still nothing. i believe has has to do with my timing. i know it should be at 10*. does anyone else have this problem?? could it be my injectors as well?? or just timing??

Pull the codes..try letting the car tell you if anythings wrong with it sensor/electrical wise, then you can move onto the mechanical posibilities.

Check engine light may not come on and still have codes present, throw the tester on and take a look see. My TFI got smoked and never threw a code, the ordeal was a huge pain...I ended up just taking a chance replacing after HOURS of checking over every damn little thing.

Another vote for pulling the codes...Walmart has the code puller for 30 dollars, it was the best 30 dollars i've ever spent.

You can also use the paper clip method, jrichker has been using that for years without any problems.

Here's the links from a jricker post:

bump that timing..
anyways, maybe you are running rich. thats a big fuel pump for a mostly stock motor. All i know is that my car runs like a$$ when i start it in the morning. I just got done tuning it and it runs a lot better now. what does your car idle at when it is at normal operating temp?
