I have a custom 93 oct tune from MPH. I notice sometimes I get a small amount of pinging. Should I lower my timeing and how low should I put it if I do?
Before playing with the tune.Try cleaning your maf.It can get dirty and cause the same thing.
Just pull off the maf clean down inside it with some electrical contact cleaner,let it dry then reinstall.See how it drives ,if it still pings THEN play with the tune.
I had the same problem and it did the same thing. It would ping in the low rpms so i retarded the timing 2 deg since that is what was allowed (2 deg increments). No pinging anymore
