I need to replace my pinion seal and bearing. I just purchased the kit from latemodelrestoration and I just wanted to know if anyone has any suggestions to ease this soon to be pain in the a$$ installation. I know there's a ford tool used to hold the pinion whilst one removes the pinion nut...anyone remember the part number for that or have some other trick to do that???

that would do it.

i have installed my pinion and pulled it out as far as i could then put a small tip tie as far down as i could on the threads to hold it in place and i reinstalled my ring gear/locker and then cut the tie. the ring gear will hold it in and keeping it from turning again then i reinstalled the nut.

i wish i had a nice impact gun.
