I cracked one of the pintle caps on an injector when I was swapping my heads/intake and was wondering if it was possible to run the car without a cap on one of the injectors. I want to get my car to the body shop tomorrow, but no one around here sells the caps. Thanks!
it should be ok, i've seen a few toyota pickup 22R's built with those caps broken or missing, it might be a heat shield..i have 5 stock injectors for sale if you're interested, PM me...

Use motor oil on the O rings when you re-assemble them & everything will slide into place. The gasoline will wash away any excess oil that gets in the wrong places and it will burn up in the combustion chamber.
The pintle caps fit either injectors with a pin sticking out the injector end or 4 with more tiny holes in the injector end
The pintle caps hold the O ring in place and keep it from sliding off and into the manifold. If the correct pintle caps are used, they do not have any effect on the injector spray pattern.
Heating the pintle caps in boiling water makes it much easier to install them.
I've run an injector without a pintle cap for about aweek before I could get to a parts store. Worked fine and no damage done (at least not as of right this moment)
