PIP sensor signal wire?

Where is it and what color am I looking for. I need this to read RPM on my dattalogs. Any help would be much appreciated as I dont have the time to rip through wireing diagrams at the moment.

Well...

The PIP (Profile Ignition Pickup), also called distributor stator or Hall effects sensor is located inside and at the bottom of your distributor.

Here's what my Chilton's manual says are the wires coming out of the distributor:

Dk Grn - PIP
Blk/Lt Blu - IND GRN
Pnk - SPOUT
Wht/Pnk - IDM
Red/Lt Grn - RUN B+
Tan/Yel - TACH

I'm guessing that if you are looking for an RPM signal, you would want the Tan/Yel TACH wire. Tan/Yel I believe means a tan wire with a yellow stripe.
