I hate to let anyone work on my cars. It always seems something gets screwed up. 90% of the time, I would do a better job. I try to do everything myself if I can.

Yeah, that's the ideal case. I've never really had a good place in life to do that. I've either not had a garage, or my job is just all consuming. I took my car in to these people in March, and I was clocking 60+ weeks . . . and going to get worse. Ironically, it was all technical work putting in equipment for a rocket motor factory i.e. my team was putting in equipment all day.

Driving my car is therapy. Working on her, not so much.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. I previously worked at a local speed shop (mustang specific) for 16 years.
We ran into every scenario both good and bad with customers and cars.
Sadly alot of aftermarket parts are junk and don't fit correctly, which we spent a lot of time/labor trying to fix when customers would bring us their parts.

We were also a fully stocked parts shop so we typically had those same parts on our shelves.
The difference between us and other shops, we wanted to do a good job and cared about the customers in general.

Your initial problems should have been addressed first, you get charged and we would have sent the car home.
Then if you wanted more work, we would have scheduled it separately.
We would do this to prevent a car sitting in the shop for months, or worse, pushed outside in the weather.

Hopefully your new shop will fix it properly for you.
That exhaust is Horrible! They shouldn't have even told you about that and changed it for you.
I bet your original exhaust was fine, maybe needed a small/simple patch if anything.

I've read your story then I did a 2 minute google search for Jamison Auto Group and found this. To me it would serve as a warning and show the company's true attitude about old American cars and their attitude about the people that own them. This is dated May 16th, 2023.

Damn thats a crazy thing for a business to put out into the world. If they feel so strongly about it, why accept the mustang and then post about 'reengineering' it and all that jazz?

I didn't see that post. To be fair, I dumped Facebook several years ago because of my work.

I found the company because they advertised as specializing in European, Classic, and Muscle Cars. And they had some older cars in there with mine (American).

After this past work, I'm not sure a Mini would even make me blink. Maybe if you did a U-turn with it up there.

Post their phone number in a public restroom stall with 'call for a good time'
Or get some of your friends to call about working on their Yugo.
