Just sucked in a plastic bag. Destroyed my map sensor. Codes coming up problem with my catalytic converter. 500$ and counting. How does this happen?

Care to explain the details on this? This is a rather vague post...

My 11 gt mustang had to be towed in for service as it would not start. They said that a plastic bag had found its way it on the air filter and destroyed the filter and a sensor. They replaced both. I took her for a ride in 40 minutes the engine light came on. back to the dealer they now tell me that both catalytic converters are clogged and need to be replaced. the car has less than 20k miles.

I hope they're doing it under warranty...the federal govt makes them warranty cats for 5yrs at least. Crazy to think a plastic bag did all that. Not starting I understand....but causing the cats to clog, never heard of that. I'm a master mechanic and an exhaust specialist.. Never in my 20yrs experience. Learn something new every day. Hope they get it straight for you.

The catalytic converter may not be blocked due to the bag. It maybe a coincidence that they need to replace them. They are going to repair under warranty and providing a rental vehicle to boot.
