Hello,
I have a 1991 Mustang GT that I do not hear the fuel pump come on when I turn the ingition to the key to the run position. It was working fine until I put in a new carpet into my car. I am not sure what the hell I did.. I checked and dont see any cut wires or anything. What is even more strange is that I have an external pump that is run on its own that also I do not hear come on. Can anyone give me some ideas of where to start looking for the problem? Car cranks over but the fuel pressure gauge shows no pressure. I do hear the relay click after two or three seconds under the driver seat so I assume that up to that point it is working.. ? I did check the reset button in the hatch area and it was not tripped. What really bothers me is that I am not even getting the external pump to turn on which is run directly to the fuse block. Checked for a bad fuse, but did not see any burnt out. I have very limited electrical system exp. so any help would be appreciated.
If I left out any information needed please let me know as I will provide as well as I can.
One bit of possible info.. my friend helping me install the carpet.. had cut three wires that had gone to a car alarm LED ( that is no longer being used ) I spiced them back together and made sure that the alarm is not being used by a manual disarm switch that is mounted under the dash..
Once again thanks for any assistance.
