Please help homemade CAI

I am useing the stock MAF does the rubber fittings both need to 3" or does one of them need to go from 3.5 or 4" down to 3"

I used 3" PVC, and two, 3" Fernco (rubber fittings) for mine.

I used 3" ABS pipe, 3" inch rubber couplings and a steel threaded nipple for the PCV pipe.
