1990 Mustang GT. Went to get in my car after work and tried to crank it up and it wouldn't start. Thought the battery might be dead so I checked the battery guage and it was normal, because I just bought a new battery yesterday. So I tried to crank it again and nothing, but it started smoking from the E brake area. I stopped. Then tried again lookin at the area it was coming from and it started smoking even worse like there was an electrical fire. So I pulled my E brake bc I was on a slight hill and the E brake cable snapped into. And it looked burnt but I thought how can that happen. I took everything apart in the parking lot and couldn't find any wires it could have cut. But then I tried to crank again after I got maintenance to help me and it didn't smoke anymore but it made a weird clicking noise at the top of the engine, sounded like from where the fuel rails were. So I'm lost on what it could be and any ideas would be appreciated. I've put a lot of time in this car and now I'm back to square one.
