I just got my car back together and got everything ready so I can go to the dyno and tune it. I got one problem though, everytime I flip my turn signals on they pop the fuse. I took a test light and found that both terminals are grounded when the turn signals are off, is that right, or is that my problem? A turn signal circuit is like the only think I never learned in school and outside of replacing a bulb I have never worked on them. If anyone has any ideas they would be greatly appreciated.

Remove the multi-function switch and inspect the wires going into the hard shell connector, then do the same with the hazzard switch. The hard shell connector (connector that holds the wires) tends to break allowing wires to slip out the backside, sometimes the loose wires come in contact with other things (wires, metal bracket, ect) and cause the short.

well all that checked out fine, anyone else got any ideas?
One thing I did was I ran the harness right behind the header panel instead of in the engine bay while had my radiator out, I double checked all of the gounds.
The only thing I can figure is one of the wires has a short. Anyone know of a good place to get a wiring diagram?

Is the fuse blowing in both the left and right directions? It's possible you may have a bad switch.

Wire colors for the turn signals:
Left Rear - Light Green/Orange
Left Front - Light Green/White
Right Rear - White/Light Blue
Right Front - Orange/Light Blue

Diagrams can also be found at
http://www.veryuseful.com/mustang/tech/engine/ and the Autozone website.

Thanks, the switch was fine the night I blew my engine, then it sat for two years before I got it running again, so I don't know if a switch would really go bad from just sitting there but you never know. Hopefully now I can figure out what is wrong
